Unfiltered - Creative Office Exercises

November 9, 2015

Each Monday at the office, the UX team runs a creative lunchtime session that we call “Unfiltered.” Totally inspired by an article about the folks at Foursquare running a similar exercise for their creative team, we’ve been facilitating a new creative exercise for whomever is interested. It takes place in our break room, and it’s a fun opportunity to have a few laughs.

Many of the exercises revolve around team building and we typically operate with larger groups to creatively solve a challenge, but since we had a small group today, I proposed that we do a similar activity to something I participated in at Creative Mornings a while back where you draw a portrait of the person across from you. The trick is that you can’t look at your paper and your pen can’t leave the page. Drawing someone with a continuous line is pretty tricky, and it’s simultaneously frustrating and freeing to make something that you know is going to turn out looking horrible.
