Principles

Some tenets that I keep in mind as I go through my day to stay proud of my work and my performance

Ethical design for an equitable world

Design has an outsized impact on the world and I very seriously uphold my commitment to ethical design practices and standards. Transparency, inclusion, respect for privacy, a focus on accessibility, and a prioritization for people and their needs always comes first.

Design (actually) within reach

Design acumen evolves with the right focus, guidance, and discipline. I especially believe in elevating the profile of folks who have natural design-thinking styles but come from non-traditional backgrounds. Diversity of thought and experience makes strong, inclusive teams.

Systems first

Having an architecture and content background instilled in me the belief that with strong systems and upfront planning, one can provide quality at scale when leading with principles and frameworks.

Be human, speak plainly

Using clear, normal communication always wins over jargon and elevated language. Simply put.

Coaching > management

I thrive when I can help others identify, elevate, and refine the traits that make them excited to craft a more interesting, sustainable world. I believe in motivational interviewing to uncover drivers and beliefs to be one’s best self.

Develop future leaders

I’m a big fan of stepping out of the way, spotlighting the team, and making room for others to grow. I try to make the right connections, reduce limiting beliefs, nudge and adjust where necessary, and celebrate / amplify wins to cultivate career growth.
